Linda Bremner

January 1, 1941 – July 9, 2016

Linda J. (Bremner) Smith, 75, of Abington passed away Saturday July 9, 2016 at South Shore Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late George Smith.

Born in Natick, the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Eldridge) Bremner, she lived in Abington for many years. She was a graduate of Natick High School.

Mrs. Smith was formerly employed by Prudential Life Insurance Company in Milton.

In her younger days, she was a volunteer for the U.S.O. She loved to travel.

Survivors include her son, James C. Whittaker and his wife Helen of Commack, NY; her sister, Susan Chapin of New Bedford; her grandson James P. Whittaker; her niece, Frances Chapin; and her great-niece, Ryjani Chapin.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
