May 14, 1943 - January 1, 2026
Edith Mae Blodgett (Hopf) passed away peacefully
at home on January 1 at the age of 82 surrounded by her loving family, after
courageously battling a long illness.
Born and raised in Natick, Massachusetts, Edie graduated from Natick High
School with the Class of 1961, where she proudly served as class treasurer.
Shortly after, she began her lifelong career at Natick Labs, a place that not
only shaped her professional life but also introduced her to the love of her
life, Curtis. The two married and shared an extraordinary 60 years together.
Edie and Curtis made their home in Framingham, where they lived for the past
six decades and raised their family. She is survived by Curtis and her sons,
Scot Blodgett and his wife Nicole of Milford, MA, and Eric Blodgett of
Framingham, MA. She was a devoted and cherished Grammy to Erin Blodgett and her
fiancé Ryan Lindsay, and Joseph Blodgett, all of whom brought her immense joy.
After retiring, Edie embraced the simple pleasures she loved most—spending
time with her family and traveling with Curtis. Their annual trips to Aruba
became a treasured tradition, filled with warmth, sunshine, and memories that
will be held close by those who loved her.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Edith's life by gathering
for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home,
11 Lincoln St., Framingham, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to
11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Natick.
Edie will be remembered for her kindness, her steady presence, and the deep
love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and
the memories she leaves behind.
