Paul Cournoyer
" It is with deep sadness that we announce the
passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A
proud father of four—Michelle, Paul, Suzanne, and Jennifer—he was the heart of
a family that grew to include 11 cherished grandchildren and 3 precious
great-grandchildren and an abundance of friends.
He served his country honorably in the Navy, embodying courage and commitment
throughout his life. For 60 wonderful years, he shared an enduring love and
partnership with his wife, Shirley, a bond that inspired all who knew them.
His devotion to family extended beyond measure. Alongside his wife Shirley and
his youngest daughter Jennifer, he provided a loving home and helped raise
three of his grandchildren, offering guidance, laughter, and unwavering
support. He was one of five siblings born to Laura Langley Cournoyer and Paul
Peter Cournoyer, and his strong family roots shaped the values he carried
throughout his life.
Known for his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor, he was a master
teller of dad jokes—bringing joy and light to every room he entered. His legacy
is one of love, service, and generosity, and his memory will live on in the
stories and smiles of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at
alz.org or to the National Cancer Foundation at cancer.org in memory of Paul
Philip Cournoyer. "
